Utah PT Continuing Education for 2027: Earn 30 CEUs Online
Feb 1
Utah’s current physical therapy continuing education cycle
ends May 31, 2027.
Physical Therapists are required to complete 40 CEUs during the two-year cycle, while Physical Therapist Assistants must complete 20 CEUs. Both PTs and PTAs must include at least 2 CEUs in ethics or law.
There is still plenty of time before the May 2027 renewal deadline, which makes this a good point in the cycle to choose continuing education based on what you can actually use in practice rather than simply filling hours at the end.
For Utah clinicians who work with runners, endurance athletes, or return-to-running patients, running assessment and retraining can be a useful area to add to the clinical toolkit.
Utah classifies an electronic course with assessment as a Category II continuing education activity.
Under the current rule:
1 Category II contact hour = 1.5 CEUs.
Pose Method® of Running: A Master Course on Running includes 20 contact hours of professional education and assessment, providing 30 Category II CEUs toward Utah’s continuing education requirement.
For a Utah Physical Therapist, that accounts for 30 of the required 40 CEUs for the current renewal cycle.
Pose Method® of Running teaches a professional system for running assessment, correction, video analysis, and retraining.
For PTs working with Utah’s recreational runners, endurance athletes, and active populations, the course allows continuing education time to also build a practical running-related clinical skill.
The current Utah renewal cycle ends May 31, 2027. Licensees should plan remaining CEUs, including the required ethics or law education, accordingly.
